Galatasaray pundit, Mehmet Özcan has provided insight into why Victor Osimhen permitted his teammate, Barış Alper Yılmaz to take a penalty during the impressive 3-0 win over Fenerbahçe at Rams Park on Sunday evening.
Osimhen, returning from injury, had previously given the home team the lead before Yılmaz extended the advantage from the penalty spot in the second half.
This decision surprised many fans, considering the Nigerian striker’s recognized position as the team’s main penalty taker and his nearly flawless record from 12 yards.

“Osimhen has been impeccable with penalties. Perhaps he wished to avoid missing the chance to score in his last derby match for Galatasaray and to demonstrate that he is a ‘True Galatasaray player.’”
