The Gbonyin Local Government PDP has taken note of the baseless and misleading statement credited to Oladimeji Atenibiaje, Ekiti West Publicity Secretary.
Ordinarily, such a poorly informed outburst would not deserve a response. However, for the sake of the public, it must be stated unequivocally that Rt. Hon. Tunji Odeyemi remains the duly recognized and unshakable Chairman of the PDP in Ekiti State.
It is both surprising and disappointing that Atenibiaje, who emerged through the same party structure he now seeks to discredit, would display such a gross misunderstanding of the PDP constitution and leadership process.
For the record, Rt. Hon. Olatunji Odeyemi’s achievements in Ekiti State are well documented and widely acknowledged by workers, civil servants, and key stakeholders, particularly his impactful tenure as Acting Governor.
We make it clear that there is no record of anti-party activity against him. Any attempt to malign his person or undermine his leadership will be strongly resisted.
The Gbonyin PDP will not stand by while sponsored elements and political opportunists attempt to destabilize the party. We challenge Atenibiaje to substantiate his claims publicly or desist from further spreading falsehood.
The PDP in Gbonyin stands firmly with Rt. Hon. Tunji Odeyemi and remains committed to protecting the integrity of the party.
