A Nigerian cleric, Prophett Apata Joseph Enoch, has sparked reactions online after sharing a post about beauty and marriage while celebrating his wife.
In a Facebook post, the cleric revealed that he is 54 years old while his wife is 50, advising people not to marry someone they consider unattractive simply because they are getting older.
“I’m 54, my sweetheart 50. Don’t marry an ugly person because of old age. Open your heart and eyes. The woman I want to marry, before, God told me I wouldn’t like her in her old age. Today, she looks like someone I can’t take pictures with. I bless God. I hear from this merciful God who knows I like a fine and beautiful wife.”
The post quickly went viral, attracting mixed reactions from social media users. While some defended the pastor’s remarks, others criticized his choice of words, arguing that beauty is subjective and that such comments could be hurtful.
