Governor Idris commends Tinubu, security agencies over rescue of Oyo schoolchildren

The Governor of Kebbi State, Dr Nasir Idris, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the security agencies, and the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) for the successful rescue of the kidnapped schoolchildren and their teachers in Oyo State.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, Governor Nasir Idris described the rescue as a victory not only for the people of Oyo State but for all Nigerians.

“I commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Seyi Makinde, and the security agencies for their tireless efforts in ensuring that the children and their teachers were rescued alive.

“This achievement is a testament to the commitment of the government and our security personnel to protecting the lives of Nigerians,” the Governor said.

Expressing immense joy and relief over the development, the Governor praised the swift and coordinated efforts of the Federal Government, the Nigerian Police Force, the Nigerian Army, and all stakeholders whose collaboration made the rescue possible.

He noted that the operation has restored hope and comfort to the affected families and reassured Nigerians that collective action can effectively address security challenges.

Idris rejoiced with the families of the rescued students and teachers and expressed solidarity with all those affected by the incident. He also extended heartfelt condolences to any families who suffered losses during the ordeal, assuring them of the prayers and support of the Kebbi State Government.

The Governor further applauded the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) for its unwavering support for its members throughout the crisis.
