A hairdresser has reportedly disciplined her apprentice by reprimanding her and instructing her to sign a bond after the young trainee repeatedly showed a lack of seriousness and prolonged absences from work.
According to the madam, the apprentice has been inconsistent in her attendance, often staying away from the salon for two to three months at a time without notice, when her colleagues are busy working.
Even when she eventually shows up, the apprentice puts in minimal effort, performing tasks haphazardly and failing to demonstrate the dedication required for mastering hairdressing skills.
The madam said the apprentice has also been observed wearing anklets to work, which violates the professional standards of her salon.
To instil discipline and ensure that her apprentice takes the training seriously, the madam instituted a “Value for Money” policy.
She emphasized that the apprentice must adhere to laid-down rules and, as part of her disciplinary measures, required her to sign a bond committing to proper attendance and active participation in learning the craft.
“You will be punished and made to sign a bond to take the apprenticeship seriously,” she said, explaining that the measures are meant to help the trainee understand the importance of responsibility and hard work in a professional setting.
The video of the flogging has sparked debates online, with some viewers supporting the hairdresser’s strict approach as necessary to prepare apprentices for the realities of running a business.
Others, however, have expressed concern over the physical punishment, suggesting that mentorship should balance discipline with encouragement.
Meanwhile, the apprentice showed no sign of remorse, acting as though she had been forced to learn the job.
