Minister of Works David Umahi has said Peter Obi cannot win the 2027 presidential election and urged people in the South-East to support President Bola Tinubu.
Umahi made the remarks on Tuesday while speaking in Abuja, where he also urged South-East leaders to educate residents about what he described as the achievements of the Tinubu administration in the region.
Speaking about Obi’s presidential ambition, Umahi said, “Peter Obi Cannot Win The 2027 Presidential Election. He Should Stop Canvassing For Votes. What Has He Done For The People Of The South-East? He Keeps Saying, ‘We Go And Verify,’ What’s Not In Existence.”
He further called on leaders in the region to campaign for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.
“We Need To Take This Message To Our People In The South-East Not To Vote For Peter Obi And Support Tinubu,” he said.
In a related remark, Umahi said increased political awareness in the South-East would reduce Obi’s support, adding that leaders should speak to residents about Tinubu’s projects, appointments and other interventions in the region.
