“He married three wives so they wouldn’t conspire against him” – Pete Edochie shares uncle’s unusual strategy

Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has recounted the unusual reason his late uncle decided to marry three wives, revealing that the man believed having multiple wives would prevent them from conspiring against him.

Speaking during an interview with comedian Isbae U on the online show Curiosity Made Me Ask, the iconic thespian recalled how his uncle first married one woman before taking a second wife and eventually a third.

Curious about his decision, Pete asked his uncle why he chose to have three wives.

According to Pete, his uncle explained that there was no way the three women could conspire against him at the same time because one of them would always reveal what the other two were saying.

In his words in parts, he said

“He said there was no way they would all conspire against him at the same time. No. That when two conspire against him, the other one would come and tell him what they are saying.

Then he said he’s now comfortable, that he balanced now. He’s fully wifed. Not long after, he passed. I won’t advise a man to take more than one wife.”

Pete’s account highlights his uncle’s unconventional approach to polygamy and his belief that having three wives would prevent them from joining forces against him.

However, after sharing the humorous story, Pete made it clear that he would not recommend the arrangement to other men, advising against taking more than one wife.
