Popular Nigerian skit maker, actress, and content creator Bukunmi Adeaga Ilori, better known as KieKie, has opened up about cohabiting with her husband, Tunji Ilori, for about four months before their wedding.
In a viral interview clip circulating on social media Kie Kie candidly explained the decision during a conversation with The Tatler Room.

She said her rent was due to expire in September, while their traditional/introductory rites had already been done and the white wedding was scheduled for January. Rather than renew her lease for just a few months, she chose practicality.
“Before my husband and I got married, we lived together for about four months. My rent had expired, and we were getting married in January, so I said to myself, ‘Why pay another rent?’ People might judge it, but I wasn’t going to waste money. We’d already done our introduction. It wasn’t about sin — it was about sense.”
Kie Kie added that both she and her husband were extremely busy with work and travels, so they barely saw each other even while living together. She noted that cohabitation didn’t reveal any new information about him, humorously advising: “Don’t marry a pretender. You can’t detect pretense by living together. Only prayer and time reveal who someone truly is.”
