Veteran Nigerian journalist Dele Momodu has revealed how he was allegedly almost detained at Heathrow Airport after security officials found 18 phones in his bag.
Momodu shared the experience while recounting some of the unusual situations he has encountered during his travels.
According to him, security officials at Heathrow became suspicious after discovering the phones and reportedly called in special forces to question him about his occupation.
“There was a time I was almost detained in Heathrow because I had 18 phones in my bag. They called special forces on me and asked me what I do for a living. I told them I’m a journalist. They told me to show proof, so I dialed the number of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II and former President of America, Bill Clinton.”
His claim has sparked reactions online, with some Nigerians joking about the level of connections he said he had, while others questioned the story.
