A 61-year-old woman has opened up about her biggest regret in life, revealing that getting married at the age of 18 is one decision she would change if given another opportunity.
The woman made this known while reflecting on her life and responding to a question about a past mistake she wished she could correct.
According to her, she got married at a very young age when she had little understanding of life and the responsibilities that come with marriage.
She explained that early marriage was common during her time, as parents often made the decision to give their daughters out in marriage before they had enough life experience.
Speaking about her experience, she said:
“The only mistake I made in the past was getting married at a young age. I got married at 18, when I didn’t know much about life, because our parents gave us out in marriage early.”
Her revelation has drawn attention to the challenges of early marriage and the importance of allowing young people enough time to understand themselves and make informed decisions about their future.

At 18, many people are still discovering life. Marriage should be a choice made with maturity and understanding, not pressure from parents or society. Every child deserves the chance to grow before taking on such a huge responsibility.”
