A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to express her grief after suspected Fulani herdsmen allegedly launched a deadly attack on her community, claiming the violence claimed the lives of several residents, including two of her cousins.
In a post shared on her Instagram page, @happiness_agbo1 recounted the tragic incident, alleging that the attack happened at about 5:40 a.m. According to her, nine people were killed while eight others sustained injuries during the assault.
Sharing her painful experience, she wrote:
“I never imagined I would have to write something this painful. Early this morning, around 5:40 a.m., Fulani herdsmen attacked our village and killed nine innocent people. Eight others were injured. I lost two of my cousins.”
The distraught woman further disclosed that her aunt was shot during the attack and is currently receiving treatment in the hospital in critical condition.
She also alleged that two of her aunt’s children were killed in the incident, while another child survived despite being shot. According to her, the suspected attackers fled the scene without being arrested.
Describing the situation as devastating, she claimed there had been no meaningful response from security agencies or the government.
“The most heartbreaking part is that those responsible walked away freely. There has been no protection, no intervention, and no justice. The government is silent. The police have done nothing. The military has done nothing,” she wrote.
Expressing disappointment, she said residents of her community have continued to live in fear, accusing the authorities of failing to provide adequate protection or ensure justice for the victims.
She ended her message by calling on Nigerians to remember her family, her community, and everyone affected in their prayers, stressing that they deserve safety, justice, and lasting peace.
The emotional appeal follows reports of a deadly attack on the Otukpo-Nobi community in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State on Sunday, July 12, 2026. The incident reportedly left several people dead, many others injured, and properties including homes and a motorcycle destroyed by fire.
