A Nigerian man has gone viral after narrating how he was allegedly arrested and remanded in prison by police officers while travelling to Ekiti State with ₦300,000.
According to his account, officers stopped him on the road after seeing the money he was carrying and immediately became suspicious.
“The Nigerian Police stopped me on my way to Ekiti State after seeing the ₦300,000 I was carrying. They suspected I had more money, arrested me, and fabricated false charges against me.”
He said the incident led to his detention and eventual remand in prison.
“They threw me in jail. When they brought me out, I thought they were going to kill me, but they took me to court instead.”
The man further explained that the judge initially ordered his remand, but the case was later dismissed.
“The judge ordered me remanded in prison. On my next court date, the case was dismissed, and I was released. I just got out of prison simply for deciding to travel to Ekiti.”
The story has since sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians condemning alleged police harassment and abuse of power.
