Controversial Anambra-based preacher Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Prophet Odumeje, has opened up about his life before becoming a cleric, revealing that he once earned money by fighting people.
The preacher shared the details during an appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast, where he reflected on his past and how his life eventually took a different direction.
According to Odumeje, he was once known for his fighting skills and claimed that people paid him to physically confront others. He also recalled how he would arrange fights at the main market, regardless of the number of people he was expected to face.
“I used to be a dangerous fighter. They used to pay me to beat people. No matter how many they are, I will give them dates for their own beating inside the main market so that people will see me dealing with it,” he said.
Interestingly, Odumeje revealed that the same market where he once engaged in fights later became a place where he preached the gospel.
His account has offered a glimpse into the past he says he left behind before becoming a widely known religious figure.
