A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after sharing her blunt opinion on why some men hesitate to marry single mothers.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), she revealed that she once defended single mothers but later changed her stance based on what she claims to have observed.
“I now understand the reason why some men don’t want to get married to single mothers. Even me, I can testify to it.
At first, I used to defend single mothers, but now your secrets have been exposed. Some of you will leave your husband’s house, enter another relationship, and still be in contact with your baby daddy,” she said.
She further alleged that these kinds of situations can create trust issues, which may discourage some men from committing.
According to her, some single mothers do not easily move on from their past relationships.
“All you do is go behind and continue seeing your baby daddies. Be careful, because these things affect new relationships,” she added.
Her comments have, however, drawn backlash, with many insisting that her claims are unfair and do not reflect the reality of most of them.
One user wrote, “This is too harsh, not all single mothers are like this.” Another added, “She’s generalising based on few experiences.”
