“I Was Bringing In More Money”- Yvonne Jegede Speaks On What Affected Her Marriage

Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has opened up about the challenges she experienced in her failed marriage, admitting that she regrets choosing love over financial stability.

The actress revealed that she earned more money than her ex-husband during their marriage, a situation she claimed contributed to tension in their relationship.

Speaking about her experience, Jegede explained that despite being financially responsible for a larger share of their expenses, her ex-husband often felt disrespected by the way she spoke to him.

According to her, his attitude towards her changed after they got married, leaving her confused about the person she had chosen to spend her life with.

Sharing her experience, she said:

“I was bringing in more of the money in the marriage and my ex-husband always felt disrespected, although he is eight years older than me.

“But the moment we got married, if I tell him, ‘You dey crazy,’ he would say I’m disrespecting him, and then I would start wondering if it was the same person I got married to.

“I regret choosing love over money.”

Her revelation has since generated conversations on social media, with many users sharing different opinions about financial responsibilities, mutual respect and the challenges that can arise when a woman earns more than her husband.

While some have questioned her account, others have weighed in on the importance of financial compatibility and understanding between couples.

Jegede’s comments have once again brought attention to the complexities of marriages where partners have different financial capacities and expectations.
