Nollywood actor and critic Tolu Fabgbure has revealed why he decided to stop greeting fellow actor Muyiwa Ademola.
Fabgbure shared the experience during an interview on Agbaletu with Dele Adeyanju, where he recalled an encounter with Ademola at the meet-and-greet for Faithia Balogun’s movie, Efunroye (The Unicorn).
According to the actor, Faithia Balogun asked him to come over when he saw Ademola at the event. Fabgbure said he tried to greet Ademola, but the actor’s response appeared “offish”, leading him to keep his distance as well.
He explained that the reaction surprised him because although he was not particularly close to Ademola, they had interacted on previous occasions and he had never experienced such treatment from him.
“I greeted him once or twice, and that was it,” Fabgbure recalled.
Fabgbure said the encounter remained on his mind, especially because they spent more than five hours in the same place. During that period, he felt Ademola was deliberately ignoring him.
The experience eventually led him to make a personal decision about how he would relate with the actor going forward.
“From that day, I made up my mind that whenever I saw him again, I wouldn’t greet him again,” he said.
The theatre practitioner added that what made the situation particularly unexpected was the fact that he had previously held conversations with Ademola before the incident.
