Afrobeats singer Mr Real has weighed in on recent comments made by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, who advised Nigerians to explore small-scale ventures such as selling akara, kulikuli, and roasted corn as a means of generating income during the current economic difficulties.
Reacting to the statement, the “Legbegbe” crooner expressed dissatisfaction with the advice, describing it as out of touch with the realities many citizens are facing amid rising living costs and economic pressure.
Mr Real further stirred reactions with a controversial comment, stating that he would rather choose a life of banditry than engage in the type of petty trading suggested by the First Lady.
According to the singer, he believes that if he were to follow such a path, the government would eventually offer him amnesty and rehabilitation, as has been done in some cases involving criminal groups.
Sharing his thoughts on Instagram, Mr Real criticized the recommendation and questioned whether small-scale trading alone could adequately address the financial struggles confronting many Nigerians.
His remarks have since sparked conversations online, with social media users expressing mixed opinions on both the First Lady’s advice and the singer’s response.
He said; “I go rather join bandit than to sell kulikuli and akara. And my target will be only politicians. At least if I am caught, they will rehabilitate me.”
