“If It’s Another Person, They Will Arrest Them”- Nigerian Youths Challenge Police Officers Over One-Way Violation

Some Nigerian youths have confronted police officers in Lagos after allegedly spotting a police Hilux vehicle driving against traffic on a one-way road.

In a video circulating on social media, the youths were seen challenging the officers over what they described as an act of lawlessness, questioning why the police should violate traffic regulations while enforcing the same rules against other road users.

One of the youths was heard expressing displeasure over the incident, saying:

“Look at Nigeria Police Hilux using a one-way lane, but if it’s another person, they will arrest the person.”

The youths reportedly blocked the road and insisted that the officers should lead by example rather than disregard traffic regulations.

The confrontation has since sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians questioning the conduct of law enforcement officers and calling for equal application of the law, regardless of an individual’s position or uniform.

The incident has also reignited discussions about police accountability and the need for security personnel to obey the traffic laws they are expected to enforce.
