The Management and Staff of Ikeja Local Government on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, came together to celebrate the Vice Chairman, Hon. Abisola Omisore, in commemoration of his birthday in a warm and convivial atmosphere.
The event commenced with a welcome address delivered by the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Comrade Jubril Olusegun Aliu, who warmly welcomed the Executive Chairman, members of the management team, staff, and distinguished guests to the celebration. The opening prayer was offered by Supervisor For Agric and rural development; Hon Omotayo Matthew.
In honour of the celebrant, guests rose for a standing ovation and joyfully sang “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow” as Hon. Abisola Omisore was ushered in. He was described as a friend of the staff and a strong advocate for staff welfare. The solidarity song was also rendered in his honour, reflecting the admiration and goodwill he enjoys among the council’s workforce.
Speaking at the occasion, the Supervisor for Budget; Hon Aderowo Oluwasegun described the Vice Chairman as a disciplined and straightforward individual and concluded his remarks with prayers for the celebrant. The Head of Budget further spoke glowingly of Hon. Omisore, describing him as friendly, kind, and highly interactive person.
The Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Rasheed Ogunseye, applauded the Vice Chairman for his exemplary character and offered prayers for continued success, good health, and divine guidance in all his endeavours.
The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda, appreciated dignitaries and guests from other local government areas, who came to celebrate the Vice Chairman. He specially welcomed the Leader of Ojodu LCDA; Hon Apatira, Leader of the House Onigbongbo, Hon. Francis, the Deputy Leader Ojodu; Hon Olanrewaju Razak, the female Honourable from Onigbongbo; Mrs Khadijat Dosumu, Majority leader Ojodu; Alhaji Bismillai, Deputy leader ikeja local government; Hon. Shakirat Jinadu , Deputy Majority Onigbongbo; Lekan Ige, Majority Leader Ikeja local government; Hon Ganiu Lawal and other representatives from Ojodu LCDA and Onigbongbo LCDA. Also appreciating the management staff for their support and presence.
The Executive Chairman reminisced on how he met Hon. Abisola Omisore during their campaign period, which he fondly referred to as “the struggle.” He praised the Vice Chairman’s loyalty, commitment, and unwavering solidarity over the years and offered heartfelt prayers for him on his birthday.
The Council Manager, Mrs. Taiwo Odubeko Julianna, also appreciated the life and contributions of Hon. Abisola Omisore, praying for greater achievements, divine favour, and many more fruitful years in service.
The Secretary to the Local Government, Hon Adeyinka illo, proposed the toast in honour of the celebrant, after which the event culminated in the cutting of the birthday cake. The cake cutting ceremony was led by the Director of Legal Services,Mrs. Bailey, who symbolically cut the cake bearing the inscription “HUMBLE”, a word that aptly describes the Vice Chairman’s personality and disposition.
The celebration ended on a joyous note as management,executive and legislative members present wished him years of impactful service, good health, and abundant blessings.
