Lami, mother of Big Brother Naija All Stars winner Ilebaye Odiniya, has provided a fresh update on the distressing incident involving her daughter on her 24th birthday.
Lami revealed that the police have released Ilebaye’s father, Emmanuel Odiniya, and retrieved her two brothers from him. She disclosed that their 32-year marriage has ended after court proceedings, during which the father was granted custody of their two sons, aged 14 and 11, who attend boarding school.

According to Lami, Ilebaye visited her father’s home in Wuye, Abuja, to ask some questions and see her brothers ahead of her birthday. However, the visit took a tragic turn when he allegedly accused her of being “engineered” by her mother, leading to the assault captured in viral videos.

Following the father’s initial arrest by officers from Wuye Divisional Police Station, the boys were temporarily handed over to Lami. However, by 9am, she was reportedly forced to return them after police reminded her of the court’s full custody order granted to the father.
Lami firmly denied claims that Ilebaye was on any form of drugs. She added that her daughter has been discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment, including over three drips for stabilisation.
Efforts to confirm the latest developments with the FCT Police Command spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, were unsuccessful as she did not pick up calls.
The incident has drawn massive public attention, with many calling for justice and protection for Ilebaye and her younger brothers.
