Nigerian fashion designer Veekee James has expressed frustration with the growing trend of party bloggers allegedly invading celebrities’ personal space at social events.
The designer voiced her concerns in a video shared online on Sunday, August 30, 2026, after discovering that footage showing her phone password had been circulated by a blog.
Veekee described the situation as part of a wider problem within Nigeria’s party-blogging space, accusing some content creators of crossing boundaries in their quest to capture viral moments.
According to her, the situation became particularly disturbing at a recent event where more than 20 bloggers reportedly crowded around her and blocked the entrance, making it difficult for other guests to pass through.
She said she had to repeatedly ask the bloggers to move out of the way before people could gain access to the venue.
While acknowledging that bloggers are also trying to make a living through the content they produce, Veekee stressed that this should not justify invading people’s privacy or treating them disrespectfully.
The fashion designer noted that she had encountered similar behaviour on several occasions and warned that her patience was beginning to wear thin.
Veekee issued a strong warning to bloggers who shove cameras directly into her face without regard for her personal space, saying she could resort to damaging their devices if the behaviour continues.
She said:
“The next time a party blog puts a camera in my face in a disrespectful manner, pray I’m not in the mood to actually spoil somebody’s phone on that day, because that’s what will happen, and I will not buy the phone.”
Beyond her own experience, Veekee also referenced a separate incident involving media personality Toke Makinwa and her baby.
She expressed her displeasure over reports that a stranger approached the child at a public gathering and touched the baby’s hand without permission.
For Veekee, the incident further highlights the need for people to understand and respect personal boundaries, particularly when dealing with public figures and their families.
