Chilling footage has shown the moment 100 Russian troops were reportedly wiped out by a Ukrainian strike. A Ukrainian commander said that one set of strikes targeted a Russian drone‑pilot training facility in the occupied town of Snizhne, reportedly killing at least 65 cadets and an instructor on Wednesday night.
President Volodymyr Zelensky later stated that additional strikes hit a Russian security service headquarters and an air‑defence system in occupied Kherson, causing nearly 100 Russian casualties, both killed and wounded. Zelensky said: “Thanks to this operation alone, Russian losses amount to around 100 occupiers killed and wounded. The Russians must feel that they have to end this war of theirs.”
He vowed more strikes deep into Putin’s territory if the Kremlin refuses to talk peace. He added: “Ukrainian medium- and long-range sanctions will continue to work.”
A Telegram channel called Ukraine Context described the strike as a “carpet bombing” of the FSB headquarters in the Kherson region.
“Result: around 100 Russians – killed and wounded. Operation carried out by the SBU’s Alpha unit. Simply Armageddon.”
Meanwhile, an expert has suggested that Ukraine’s recent surge of long‑range drone attacks on Russia signals a shift in the war increasingly in Kyiv’s favour.
Nearly 600 Ukrainian drones were launched across Russia overnight on Sunday, killing four people, in what President Volodymyr Zelensky described as “entirely justified” retaliation for Moscow’s continued strikes on Ukraine.
Russia’s defence ministry reported that its air defences intercepted 556 drones during the night and another 30 after sunrise. Reaching as far as 700 miles from the Ukrainian border, the operation was among Ukraine’s largest drone barrages of the war, reportedly striking military and infrastructure sites, including a Russian navy vessel.
Keir Giles, a Russia analyst at Chatham House told Daily Mail, he said: “The drone strikes on Russia will not win the war on their own, but they are one indication among many at the moment that the advantage in the war is swinging back Ukraine’s way.
“Ukraine is exploiting the fact that Russia is a big place, and it is not possible to defend everything within Russia in a meaningful manner. Even if Russia were to dedicate as much effort and resources to air defence as Ukraine has been forced to do under the relentless Russian bombardment, they would still not be able to protect all of the vital facilities that Ukraine is now targeting.”
