Mr Abdul-Rahoof Bello-Labelabe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, has claimed that the Deputy Governor, Kayode Alabi, is yet to visit his hometown, Oro-Ago, since the March 25, 2026, terrorist invasion of the community to sympathise with the people, news.ng reports.
The APC chieftain made this allegation in an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Monday morning.
Recall that in March, suspected terrorists laid siege to the Oro-Ago community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state, reportedly killing a vigilante commander and shooting a local chief security officer.
It was gathered that the incident, which occurred on Wednesday evening, involved gun-wielding bandits who attacked the community as they attempted to wreak havoc on the police station.
Meanwhile, Bello-Labelabe claimed that all the communities in Oro-Ago, where the deputy governor is from, have been desolated as a result of the attack.
He said, “The states, well, I don’t know why the states cannot mobilise the deputy. All the communities in Oro-Ago that were desolated are the communities of the sitting deputy governor of the states. And we have not heard a single word from him, either as condolence or in sympathy of the victims.”
While he claimed that the deputy governor is yet to show up, the Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has visited some affected areas.
“He has not even visited the villages. So, I don’t know. Well, governor visited some places in the past, like he visited Oke-Ode Oke-Ode visited Babanla, etc. Yeah, governor himself has not been forthcoming enough,” he added.
He urged the state government to get serious with their duties rather than sending condolences and issuing press statements.
He claimed that the attackers have an agenda—to displace Oro-Ago and occupy the land.
“We should graduate from, you know, sending condolences and press statements. We should go into real action.
“Because these people have agenda. It has been coordinated attack. The agenda is to displace the Oro-Ago.
“For the aliens to occupy our land. That is the agenda,” he claimed.
