The law firm of W.K. Shittu, SAN & Co. has formally stepped back from all legal involvement in the DNA testing process concerning the late international musician Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
In a statement released on Tuesday and signed by the firm’s head, Dr. Wahab Shittu, SAN, the decision was attributed to a “persistent social media campaign spreading false allegations of attempts to influence the outcome of the DNA process.”
The firm emphasized that these claims were “entirely unfounded” and that withdrawing was necessary to uphold principles of integrity and professionalism.
The firm said it has informed Mohbad’s family of its withdrawal and recommended that the DNA process be conducted transparently through reputable laboratories, both within Nigeria and internationally, to ensure credibility and avoid any potential compromise.
W.K. Shittu, SAN & Co. clarified that the withdrawal pertains solely to the DNA proceedings and does not affect the firm’s handling of other legal matters concerning Mohbad’s family. The firm added that formal notices of withdrawal will be filed with the relevant court to complete the process.
