Iran reacts to US election outcome after Democrats’ blue tsunami

“Conscience or the cost of living, Americans said NO TO WAR, and we endorse this message,” said Speaker of the Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

The lawmaker added that if the US government betrays the public will to serve “international paymasters and blackmailers,” it will learn that the NO by Iran comes with a nightmare.

Supreme National Security Council Secretary Maj. Gen. Mohsen Rezaei said President Donald Trump has suffered defeat at the warfront, the Strait of Hormuz, and in Washington.

According to Rezaei, the American people and the US government have been saddled with the “exorbitant and heavy costs of Trump’s warmongering.”

The former Revolutionary Guard chief added that anyone who takes on the Islamic Republic will pay a heavy price, “from the battlefield to their own doorstep.”

“Pride comes before a fall,” wrote Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, who stressed that the US was dragged into an unlawful and atrocious war against Iran.

Baghaei said Americans have sent a clear message, warning that if the leadership continues to disregard reality, “the consequences” will extend far beyond what has been witnessed.

The Democratic Party won control of both the US Senate and House, driven largely by opposition to President Trump’s domestic policies and the war in Iran.
