Violent Israeli settlers launched at least 20 attacks on Palestinians in various areas across the West Bank in two days, with reports detailing civilians being severely wounded and homes being set ablaze.
The string of attacks, which include vandalising property, uprooting olive trees and harassing and beating civilians, were recorded on Friday and Saturday.
The victims of the attacks include a 35-year-old pregnant woman and a 65-year-old woman, the Palestinian Red Crescent said, adding they were wounded when settlers descended on the village of Jurish, near Nablus on Saturday.
In one incident, residents of a town near Jericho told reporters that settlers broke into their homes early on Saturday, and beat people with clubs while they were still in bed. An Israeli military vehicle blocked access to the area during the attack, despite three Palestinians needing medical treatment.
Members of the Ras Ein al-Auja said eight masked settlers arrived at their compound in cars and quads, attacking residents. One resident told reporters that settlers “cracked open” his brothers head, requiring him to get four stitches before Israeli forces detained his nephew.
On Thursday evening, settlers vandalised homes and burnt vehicles in a village north of Ramallah.
The Israeli military only commented on one incident from the string of attacks, stating that an investigation is ongoing.
“Israeli civilians entered private Palestinian territory in Area A, threw stones, and shot into the air – but no suspects were found,” the army said in a statement.
Palestinians and human rights groups have long accused Israeli forces of emboldening violent settlers and failing to hold them accountable.
The attacks continued into Sunday, with settlers demolishing greenhouses belonging to the Arab al-Khouli Bedouin community, located in Qalqilya, the Palestinian Wafa news agency reported.
Residents in the town described settlers as coming in with a bulldozer, storming the area, and demolishing the greenhouses.
The latest developments also come as Israeli forces carried out several raids across the West Bank on Sunday.
Military vehicles entered towns north of Tulkarem, while troops patrolled the streets, restricting the movement of Palestinians and harassing residents.
Israeli forces also raided several shops and detained their owners and employees, Wafa reported.
In Bethlehem, Israeli forces raided towns and closed main roads, before breaking into the Balqis Wedding Hall, and detaining several people in its vicinity.
Since the start of the war on Gaza in October 2023, there has been a surge in Israeli attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank.
At least 1,000 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank in the same time frame, with a quarter of the victims being children, the UN said earlier this year.
