A Lebanese emergency worker was killed in a targeted Israeli airstrike in the south of the country on Friday, according to Lebanese authorities.
Israel has mounted daily attacks across the country in violation of the ceasefire that was supposed to halt the fighting three weeks ago.
In a statement, Lebanon’s civil defence said a rescuer was killed “as a result of an Israeli strike that targeted him” on a road in the south.
Israeli forces have killed at least 103 healthcare workers and emergency responders since 2 March, according to Lebanon’s health ministry.
The World Health Organization said Wednesday it had verified 152 separate Israeli attacks on healthcare.
The Israeli military ordered residents of seven villages in the south to flee in what the latest in a series of displacement orders targeting Shia-majority areas across the south.
The orders covered six villages east of Tyre and the town of Nmairiyeh north of Nabatieh.
More than one million people have been displaced in Israel’s offensive, which has depopulated swathes of southern Lebanon and seen Israeli forces seize territory deep into the country.
Israeli shelling was reported in several areas of the south on Friday morning.
A ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah began on 17 April as part of a truce between Iran and the US, though Israel has violated it daily. On Wednesday, it bombed Beirut for the first time during the ceasefire.
Hezbollah has launched retaliatory attacks against Israeli troops occupying the country.
At least 2,727 people have been killed, and another 8,438 others have been injured in Israeli strikes since 2 March, when Hezbollah targeted Israel in response to the US-Israeli assassination of Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei.
