Senate President Godswill Akpabio has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s performance in office, saying he has never seen any Nigerian president commission as many projects within two years as the current administration.
Akpabio made the remarks during the commissioning of the Old Keffi Road, where he highlighted several infrastructure projects recently inaugurated across the country under Tinubu’s leadership.
According to him, the President’s commitment to infrastructure development has transformed communities and inspired confidence among Nigerians.
Recalling the recent commissioning of Gaduwa Road in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and projects in Nasarawa State, Akpabio said residents of satellite communities came out in large numbers to celebrate what they described as unprecedented development.
“The people came out with joy and with shouts. They could not believe what they are seeing,” he said.
He added that while one project was being commissioned in Nasarawa State, another major road project stretching from Akwanga to Jos in Plateau State was simultaneously being flagged off.
Praising the President’s achievements, Akpabio repeatedly declared:
“This president is doing miracles. This president is doing miracles.”
The Senate President urged Nigerians to make performance the primary criterion for electing leaders, insisting that future elections should be based on tangible achievements rather than political rhetoric.
“We must now bring up a standard for elections that says, ‘Show me your works and I will vote for you,’” he said.
Akpabio also criticised some politicians who, according to him, have spent more than 25 years in public office without meaningful accomplishments to show for their time in government.
He further commended Tinubu’s record, noting that the President’s approach to governance has remained consistent since his tenure as Governor of Lagos State.
According to Akpabio, Tinubu has continued to demonstrate vision, planning and results-driven leadership.
“He is the same person, thinking, planning, and working, and bringing out results,” he added.
The Senate President concluded by expressing pride in representing President Tinubu at the commissioning of the Old Keffi Road.
