The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced registration for candidates seeking admission into Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programmes in Colleges of Education and non-technological agricultural programmes in polytechnics.
JAMB said eligible candidates with the required O’Level credits can register at any Institutional Professional Registration Centre (IPRC) in Colleges of Education or any JAMB Professional Registration Centre (PRC) nationwide.
The board noted that, under the Federal Government’s new policy, candidates seeking admission into these programmes are no longer required to sit the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Instead, they can gain admission through a dedicated registration process developed by JAMB to ensure only qualified candidates are admitted while maintaining academic standards.
JAMB also advised candidates who participated in the 2026 UTME but now wish to study NCE or non-technological agricultural programmes to convert their applications at any designated IPRC or JAMB PRC free of charge.
According to the board, the policy is designed to widen access to teacher education and agricultural programmes while preserving the quality of admissions into the institutions.
