The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified concerns from parents over candidates whose results are currently indicated as “No Result Yet,” explaining that the status applies to underage candidates whose results have not been released.
In a statement, the Board said it had received several inquiries regarding the development, stressing that the system is functioning as designed.
JAMB stated that “results for underage candidates have not been released,” noting that whenever such candidates attempt to check their results, the platform will display the message “No Result Yet.”
The Board reiterated that, in line with existing regulations, only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by 30 September 2026 are eligible to register for and sit the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
However, it explained that underage candidates may still be considered under a special category, provided they demonstrate exceptional academic ability.
According to the Board, such candidates must score at least 320 in the UTME and attain a minimum of 80 per cent in subsequent screening stages to qualify for consideration.
JAMB added that, following an agreement reached with parents of the affected candidates, only those who meet the 320 benchmark will be shortlisted for the next phase.
It noted that candidates who successfully scale through the screening process may then be considered for admission under the exceptional candidates provision.
The Board, however, reaffirmed that results for underage candidates remain unreleased at this time.
