As the world marks World Cleanup Day 2025, JMG Limited, Nigeria’s leading electro-mechanical solutions provider, has restated its commitment to environmental sustainability through clean energy adoption and effective waste management.
World Cleanup Day, observed globally every 20th of September, is aimed at tackling the global waste crisis and promoting sustainable environmental practices. This year’s edition themed “From Clean Plates to Clean Cities” focuses on food waste, responsible consumption, circular economy and sustainable urban waste management.
According to the company, the theme aligns perfectly with its sustainability blueprint which goes beyond physical cleanup to promoting cleaner and more efficient energy systems for homes, businesses and public institutions.
JMG Limited said environmental conservation should not be seen as a one-day activity but as a lifestyle that combines community participation, responsible consumption and smart energy choices for a healthier and more habitable society.
The company had demonstrated its community-driven approach to environmental responsibility last year when its management and staff joined residents of Gbagada, Lagos State, for a large-scale cleanup exercise. The exercise focused on evacuation of refuse, sensitization on proper waste separation and encouraging collective responsibility for keeping the environment clean.
But beyond community cleanup, JMG said its major contribution to environmental protection is helping organisations transition from conventional power sources to cleaner, reliable alternatives.
One of its flagship sustainability interventions is the solar hybrid power installation at the Agboyi-Ketu Primary Health Care Centre, Lagos. The project provides uninterrupted electricity for critical healthcare services including emergency care, maternity, immunisation and diagnostics, thereby improving service delivery while reducing carbon emissions.
