JUST IN: Kwara Governor AbdulRazaq Sacks Key Aides, Reshuffles Cabinet

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has approved a major shake-up within his administration, affecting several top political appointees and key government aides.

The development follows a cabinet restructuring announced on Monday, signalling fresh changes within the state government as the administration moves to reposition itself.

The reshuffle affects all Special Advisers, Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, as well as the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Principal Private Secretary to the governor.

The announcement was contained in an official statement issued by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mashood Agboola.

According to the statement, the exercise is aimed at strengthening governance and creating room for broader participation within the administration.

“Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved a minor cabinet shake-up involving all Special Advisers, Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and Special Assistants,” the statement read.

Government sources say the decision is part of ongoing efforts by the AbdulRazaq administration to inject fresh ideas into governance and expand opportunities for more members of the ruling party to contribute to the state’s development.

The latest move also extends to strategic positions within the governor’s office, including the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Principal Private Secretary, both of whom play critical roles in coordinating government activities and executive operations.

Governor AbdulRazaq, according to the statement, thanked all affected officials for their service and contributions to the growth of the state during their time in office.

He also wished them success in their future pursuits.

The statement further directed all affected appointees to immediately hand over government property in their possession to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government in line with administrative procedures.
