“With sadness in our hearts and gratitude to God for a life well spent, we announce the call to glory of Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour (née Waboso).

“A loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother. The epitome of love. She will be sorely missed. May her beautiful soul rest in perfect peace.

“Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly.”

The announcement was issued by Olawale Rhodes-Vivour on behalf of the family.

Alongside the statement, the family released a memorial tribute celebrating the life and values of the deceased. The tribute described her as a caring woman whose compassion, warmth and dedication left a lasting mark on everyone who came in contact with her.

“Beloved Wife, Devoted Mother, Gentle Spirit.

“She loved fiercely and gave endlessly. In her arms we found home; in her smile, we found peace. A wife who cherished, a mother who nurtured – her love was our shelter, and it remains, unshaken, in every heart she held.

“Though she is gone from our sight, she is never gone from our hearts.”

Family members said details of the funeral programme would be communicated in due course.

The news has drawn condolences from supporters, associates and members of the political community, many of whom have taken to social media to sympathise with Rhodes-Vivour and his family during the difficult period.

Rhodes-Vivour, a prominent Lagos politician and former governorship candidate, remains one of the leading opposition figures in the state.
