Popular Nigerian gospel singer Judikay has shared a deeply emotional testimony about a frightening medical scare she experienced during her second pregnancy, revealing how a routine hospital scan turned into one of the most distressing moments of her life.
The singer, whose real name is Judith Kanayo-Oparam, recently welcomed her second child after years of waiting to expand her family, but she says the journey was far from easy.
Speaking during her daughter’s dedication service at church, Judikay recounted how she travelled to Canada while heavily pregnant—about 34 weeks along—for routine medical checks ahead of delivery.
According to her, what was meant to be a normal ultrasound scan quickly turned into a moment of fear and confusion. She explained that during the procedure, the medical staff asked her to change positions and applied pressure to her abdomen while continuing the scan.
Shortly after, she was allegedly given alarming feedback about her unborn child. Judikay said she was told that the baby appeared not to be breathing and that there were concerns suggesting the child had “no nose,” alongside recommendations for further tests, including screening for Down syndrome.
The shocking report left her devastated and emotionally overwhelmed. She immediately reached out to her husband, who, according to her, encouraged her not to accept the report or proceed with further panic-driven tests, but instead to hold on to their faith and pray.
Choosing faith over fear, the couple reportedly spent time praying and trusting God through the difficult period.
In a powerful twist to her testimony, Judikay revealed that her baby was eventually delivered safely, defying the earlier medical concerns. She later added that doctors discovered the baby had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck twice in the womb—a condition that made the pregnancy even more delicate than initially understood.
