Kebbi ADC seeks ICPC clarification on alleged investigation of state govt

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, Kebbi State Campaign Council has asked the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, to clarify whether it has investigated or is investigating the affairs of the Kebbi State Government.

The council made the request in a letter dated September 14, 2026, asking the anti-corruption agency to clarify whether it had conducted any investigation or inquiry involving the state government, its agencies, officials, or the management of public resources.

It also asked the ICPC to provide, where permitted by law, the status or outcome of any such investigation, including findings, recoveries, forfeitures, prosecutions, charges, or other lawful actions.

The council said the request was not an allegation of wrongdoing against any individual or government official but a call for official clarification.

According to the ADC, if any investigation had taken place, residents deserved to know its status or outcome, to the extent permitted by law. It added that if no such investigation had taken place, that should also be clarified.

The council said the matter was important because it concerned the management of public resources belonging to the people of Kebbi State.

The ADC said questions concerning public resources should be addressed through official records and competent institutions rather than rumours or political claims.
