Relief has come to families in Eda-Oniyo, Ekiti State, as victims abducted by suspected kidnappers have regained their freedom after spending 57 days in captivity.
The rescued victims are currently receiving medical attention at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital in Ado-Ekiti to aid their recovery following the traumatic experience.
Tragically, one of the victims, an 84-year-old woman, did not survive the ordeal and has been confirmed dead, casting a shadow over the survivors’ return.
The victims’ release has brought relief and joy to their families and the Eda-Oniyo community. However, the death of the elderly woman has left residents mourning, underscoring the devastating human cost of kidnapping.
