Among the most profound lessons, she says, is the true meaning of courage. While many imagine bravery as an act of extraordinary strength, she has discovered that courage often appears in quieter forms.
āIt has taught me that courage doesnāt always look strong. Sometimes, it is simply getting out of bed, taking one more step and making it through another day,ā she shared.
Some of the hardest battles are fought away from public view, in hospital wards, treatment rooms and private moments when determination is tested daily.
Sitawa also reflected on how cancer changed her perception of her own body. Rather than viewing herself as weak, she has come to recognise the immense resilience required to endure treatment and keep moving forward.
āIāve learned that my body isnāt weak. Itās exhausted. Itās been through battles I never imagined, yet it keeps fighting for me every single day,ā she said.
The experience has also altered her outlook on time and the future. Confronted with the uncertainty that often accompanies serious illness, she no longer waits for the perfect moment to embrace life.
