A Nigerian lady has shared her frustration over how her AS genotype has affected her dating life, saying she has lost relationships that she believes could have developed into something meaningful.
In a video shared online, she explained that she often meets men with whom she shares mutual attraction and compatibility.
However, she said the conversations frequently end once they discuss their blood groups and genotypes and discover that they are both AS.
According to her, the possibility of having children with Sickle cell disease often leads both parties to discontinue the relationship, even when they genuinely like each other.
She questioned why she has to repeatedly face such situations and expressed disappointment that genotype has become a deciding factor in many of her relationships.
The woman also claimed that some men with the AA genotype appear to see themselves as especially desirable because they know genotype compatibility is an important consideration for many people.
She recounted one instance in which a man allegedly told her that he was a “hotcake” because many women were interested in him due to his genotype.
Despite her frustrations, she noted that she still has specific qualities she looks for in a life partner beyond genotype.
She said …
“Am I the only one that have lost relationships that would have probably blossom into something beautiful because of genotype?
I am AS and sometimes I am angry because you would meet a guy, you guys would vibe, you guys would tick your boxes and then when it’s time to not ask what is your blood group and your genotype and see me, I will say as uncle over there we say as and that is the end of the world.
We intend to date we like ourselves but we will not force ourselves to be friends like that or just cut communication.
Why?
Where did this AS thing come from?
And do you know the annoying thing, these men that are AA they have pride. Imagine one telling me that you know that I’m a I’m hotcake in the market. Girls are rushing me so you have to hold me well because you definitely need me.
There are characteristics I’m looking out for in a man…”
