The Lagos State House of Assembly has spent N1bn out of the N20bn budgeted for the construction of a new fence and drainage channels at the Permanent Legislative Quarters, including the covering of gutters.
The expenditure was contained in the Lagos State Budget Implementation Report for the second quarter of 2026.
According to the report, N500m was spent on the project in the second quarter, bringing the cumulative expenditure for the first half of the year to N1bn.
The N1bn expenditure represents five per cent of the N20bn originally budgeted for the project, leaving N19bn unspent as of the end of the second quarter.
The project involves the construction of a new perimeter fence and drainage channels at the Permanent Legislative Quarters, as well as the covering of gutters.
The report also showed that N9.5bn was spent on the construction of permanent legislative quarters for members of the Lagos State House of Assembly between January and June 2026.
A total of N35.47bn was allocated for the construction of the permanent legislative quarters in the 2026 original budget.
The project received N3bn in expenditure during the second quarter, bringing the cumulative expenditure in the first half of the year to N9.5bn.
The N9.5bn spent represents 26.8 per cent of the N35.47bn budgeted for the project, leaving N25.97bn unspent as of the end of the second quarter.
