Chelsea Football Club have announced the sack of their head coach, Liam Rosenior, after three months of being in charge of the senior men’s team, news.ng reports.
They made this known in a published statement on their website on Wednesday evening.
Rosenior was appointed on January 6, 2026, from the French club side Strasbourg.
According to the statement, the club parted ways with Rosenior following their continued poor performance in the Premier League, losing five straight matches.
The club said, “This has not been a decision the Club has taken lightly; however, recent results and performances have fallen below the necessary standards, with still so much more to play for this season. Everyone at Chelsea FC wishes Liam every success in the future.”
Handling the remaining league matches and Saturday’s FA Cup engagement, the club stated that Calum McFarlane will take charge.
“Calum McFarlane will take charge of the team as Interim Head Coach until the end of the season with support from existing Club backroom staff, as we strive to achieve European qualification and progress in the FA Cup,” the club added.
