Speed Darlington has rejected Carter Efe’s victory after their celebrity boxing clash at the Chaos in the Ring event in Lagos.
Carter Efe defeated Speed Darlington in the four-round bout held at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, on Thursday, October 1. Reports on the exact manner of the stoppage have differed, with Channels Television reporting a referee stoppage after Speed stopped responding, while other reports described the result as a decision.
Reacting after the fight, Speed Darlington questioned the outcome and alleged that the judges were unfair.
The rapper also stressed that he is 20 years older than Carter Efe and insisted that the younger fighter did not clearly beat him.
“Despite being 20 years older than Carter Efe, look at what I did to him last night. Those judges did Ojoro. I have been watching boxing for years, and you can’t use just one blow to win a f!ght.”
His comments came after Carter landed a heavy punch during the contest before the fight was brought to an end. Carter Efe retained his celebrity boxing title with the victory, extending his unbeaten run in the Chaos in the Ring series.
Speed Darlington had earlier called for a rematch with Carter, insisting that he was not convinced by the result.
