A man has called out Nigerian billionaires for allegedly paying low salaries to domestic staff despite entrusting them with their lives and valuable properties.
In a post shared on X, he questioned why some billionaires spend hundreds of millions of naira on mansions, luxury cars and other expensive assets, yet allegedly pay security guards, chefs and other household staff relatively low wages.
Man questions salaries paid to domestic workers
He argued that domestic workers play critical roles in employersâ lives, with security guards protecting billion-naira properties and chefs preparing every meal served to the families they work for.
In his words:
âNigerian billionaires are funny sha.
âYou bought a piece of land worth maybe âŚ50 million.
âSpent another âŚ200 million building a mansion.
âParked cars worth over âŚ500 million inside the compound.
âThen you hired a gateman to protect properties worth well over âŚ1 billion⌠and youâre paying him âŚ70k a month.
âThe same chef that cooks every meal you eat and literally controls what enters your body and determines the next minute you will stay on this earth is earning âŚ100k monthly.
âSometimes I just sit down and wonder.
âYou trust these people with your life and your entire wealth, yet you pay them salaries that can barely take care of them.
âAnyways⌠pray your enemies never come in contact with them sha.â
