Manchester United have begun selling pieces of the historic Old Trafford pitch, with each 7x7cm section priced at £125.
The first batch of turf, preserved inside glass cubes and placed in a black case, has already sold out.
The move comes as United revealed that the club’s overall debt remains above £1bn.
The club reported record revenue of £677.6m and an operating profit of £22.6m for the 2025-26 financial year. However, they still recorded a pre-tax loss of £43m.
United also confirmed that £63.5m had been spent on purchasing land for a proposed new stadium, with the project expected to cost more than £2bn.
The Old Trafford pitch was removed this summer for the first time in 14 years, with the surface stripped back to its foundation.
Parts of the turf were kept and preserved as memorabilia for supporters.
The club described the glass cubes as a “priceless memento” of the iconic matches that have been played at Old Trafford, as well as a way for fans to preserve memories from matchdays.
The sale gives supporters an opportunity to own a small piece of the stadium that has hosted generations of Manchester United players and witnessed some of the most memorable matches in the club’s history.
