Kylian Mbappé could consider leaving Real Madrid if the club fails to meet his expectations, according to French journalist Daniel Riolo.
Riolo made the comments on RMC Sport’s After Foot before discussing the situation further on Cadena SER’s El Larguero. Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also reported the remarks on X on Friday.
The journalist, who is regarded as having close ties to the Mbappé family, suggested that the French forward was unhappy with aspects of the Spanish club’s current situation.
“If he does not have the team he wants, it’s possible that he will leave. I think it’s possible. I don’t think he’s happy with everything that’s happening at Real Madrid this season,” Riolo said.
His comments have attracted attention in Spanish and French media, although he presented the possibility of Mbappé leaving as his personal assessment rather than confirmed information.
Mbappé has two years remaining on his contract after the current campaign, with his deal running until June 2029.
Any potential departure in the summer of 2027 would therefore require an agreement with Real Madrid or a major transfer deal.
