Kylian Mbappé has dismissed the possibility of extending his career until the age of 41, unlike Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to Fabrizio Romano on X on Thursday, Mbappé was asked whether he could see himself playing at the highest level for as long as Ronaldo has.
The France captain responded with a smile, saying, “France would never let me play until I’m 41!”
Mbappé, however, was quick to acknowledge Ronaldo’s remarkable longevity, praising the Portuguese star for maintaining his physical and mental condition throughout his career.
“Cristiano shows that if you’re in good physical and mental shape, you can play at this high level for a long time,” Mbappé said.
Despite his admiration for Ronaldo’s ability to remain at the top for so many years, Mbappé admitted that he does not expect to follow the same career path.
“In my case, I don’t see it happening,” he told BILD.
Ronaldo’s continued ability to compete at an elite level well into his 40s remains an unusual example of longevity in professional football.
Mbappé, however, appears to have a different timeframe in mind for his own career.
