Mixta Africa, a leading real estate developer in West Africa, has handed over keys to 27 additional homeowners at its Ibudo Wura housing community along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, bringing the total number of completed homes delivered across Phases 1 and 2 to 192.
The latest handover represents another milestone in the company’s more than two-decade history of residential development across Africa, with Mixta Africa saying it has delivered more than 30,000 homes to date.
The company said the latest delivery reinforces its commitment to completing homes and fulfilling its obligations to customers who have invested in its housing projects.
Speaking during the handover, Tola Akinsulire, Group Chief Commercial Officer, Mixta Africa, described the transfer of keys as one of the most significant moments in the relationship between a developer and its customers.
“Handing over keys is one of the most important moments in our relationship with a customer because it is when our promise becomes tangible.
“Buying a home is a significant financial and emotional commitment, and customers need confidence that what they have paid for will be delivered.
“Today, 27 more families have taken possession of homes they can call their own. Our responsibility is to keep earning that trust through consistent delivery across our communities,” he said.
For the beneficiaries, the handover marked the transition from purchasing a property to taking actual possession of their homes.
One of the homeowners, Mrs Soprinye Banjo, expressed satisfaction with the quality of the development and the surrounding environment.
“What I am seeing today is good quality for the price. It is an excellent job done. I like the environment.
“Speaking with the engineers and facility managers today, I am confident that my family is in good hands,” she said.
Another homeowner, Mrs Yetunde Oyegunle, said she was initially introduced to Mixta Africa and Ibudo Wura by a friend before deciding to invest in the development.
“I was introduced to Mixta Africa and Ibudo Wura by a friend and I decided to give it a try. Getting here today, I was overwhelmed by what I saw and I am happy because this is real.
“The estate is beautiful, the home finishing is excellent and the environment is conducive. I will definitely recommend the developers to anyone who is interested in owning a property because this is real,” she said.
Beyond physical delivery, Ibudo Wura also highlights the role of financing in expanding access to homeownership.
According to Mixta Africa, prospective homeowners have been able to access financing with as little as 10 per cent equity payable over six months, interest rates of 9.75 per cent per annum and repayment tenors ranging from five to 20 years.
The financing arrangement is available through the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI) Real Estate Investment Fund (MREIF), with indicative monthly repayments starting from N534,785.
Mixta Africa said Ibudo Wura remains open to new buyers as further homes continue to be delivered within the community.
Available units currently start from N58.319 million outright for selected one-bedroom apartments and two-bedroom row houses and H-type units.
The company said buyers can choose between outright purchase and six- or 12-month instalment payment options.
