Mohbad’s Father Makes Social Media Return Ahead Of Son’s Third Death Anniversary

Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, has returned to social media with a brief post just days before the third anniversary of the death of his son, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

Aloba shared a short video on his TikTok account on Monday, September 7, 2026, in which he appeared to be in a recording studio with another person. The duo could be seen singing along to a song carrying messages of gratitude, faith and prayer, including lyrics expressing a desire not to witness evil again.

The post also featured an overlay message that read: “This Gift lit up my day: Hand Heart. Thank you @ TemmyebiJosephALOBA.” Aloba accompanied the video with a message expressing his appreciation.

His social media activity attracted attention because of its timing, coming shortly before the third remembrance of Mohbad, whose death in September 2023 continues to generate discussions and emotions among Nigerians and fans of the late singer.

Mohbad’s passing sparked widespread public reactions and renewed conversations about the circumstances surrounding his death. Three years later, his name remains prominent in Nigerian entertainment conversations, with fans continuing to remember his music and legacy.

For many social media users, Aloba’s latest post carried an emotional significance beyond its brief content. Having followed his public journey through grief over the years, some netizens welcomed his return to social media and responded with messages of support and encouragement.
