Moro demands justice over alleged death of Benue truck driver in Abuja police station

The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro, has condemned the death of a 52-year-old truck driver from Owukpa, Jeremiah Agbo, at the Dei Dei Police Station in Abuja.

Moro, in a statement signed by his Media Adviser, Emmanuel Eche’Ofun John, on Saturday night, said Agbo died after he was reportedly detained at the police station following a road accident.

The Senate Minority Leader said the circumstances surrounding Agbo’s death while in police custody remained unclear, calling on the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to order a thorough investigation into the incident.

“The circumstances surrounding Mr. Agbo’s death while in police custody is not clear. Therefore, I demand a thorough investigation,” Moro said.

He described Agbo as a hardworking and responsible family man, stressing that his death was painful and should not be ignored.

Moro expressed confidence that justice would be served, while extending his condolences to the deceased’s family and praying to God to grant them the strength to bear the irreplaceable loss.
