A family has been thrown into mourning following the tragic deaths of three loved ones, leaving them in fear and with unanswered questions.

Kulwa Mohamed, Doto Mohamed, and Rehema Mohamed were all found dead in a forest after being missing for several days.
Their heartbroken mother could not hold back her tears of sorrow and anguish as she mourned her young children.
She struggled to come to terms with the deaths of her children, who were allegedly killed by unknown assailants after they disappeared.
“My three children are dead. They loved each other dearly. They never left one another. They were always together. I do not know what to do. I went to see their bodies this morning. They were together,” she cried.

Assistant commissioner narrates what happened
John Makuri Mori, an assistant commissioner in the police force, visited the family’s home to mourn with them and share details of the incident.
Residents and neighbours also visited the family to offer their condolences as they listened to the police report on the heartbreaking case.
“On Monday, June 8, at around 7am, three children from the same family left home for madrasa to attend Islamic religious studies. According to the information we have, the children never made it to the madrasa. They disappeared along the way. After receiving the report, we immediately launched a search operation to trace the children.
“On Saturday, June 13, we found two of the children dead in a forest. They were Rehema Mohamed and Kulwa Mohamed. On Sunday, June 14, at around 7am, we found the third child, Doto, in the same forest in Kilimahewa. She had also been strangled like her sisters. Her thumbs had been cut off as well,” he said.

Assistant commissioner’s advise to parents
The police officer urged residents to remain calm despite the shocking incident, which occurred after a long period of peace in the area.
Mori asked residents to allow the police and other security agencies time to investigate and apprehend those responsible for the brutal killings.
“Secondly, I strongly urge my fellow citizens to continue protecting our children. We must know where our children are, who they are with, and what they are doing. The world is changing, and so is the nature of crimes. Let this incident serve as a lesson so that it does not happen again. Every parent should know where their child is, at what time, and what they are doing.
“Lastly, I would like to assure you that the police force and other security and defence agencies are working day and night. I ask you to trust that we will soon arrest those responsible for this crime so that justice can take its course,” he said.
