A Nigerian man has shared his regret after his daughter was born with sickle cell disease, saying his religious beliefs influenced a decision he now considers a “foolish mistake.”
According to the man, he was once a devoted and “die-hard” religious follower who tried to live strictly according to his interpretation of the Bible.
He said he and his wife dated for three years without having sex, despite both of them knowing that they were AS.
The man claimed that his strong religious convictions made him believe that God would not allow them to have a child with sickle cell disease. He said he now regrets the decision and is struggling with the reality of his daughter’s condition.
